Bradford for Everyone launches Inclusive Employers Toolkit

Bradford for Everyone launches Inclusive Employers Toolkit

Bradford for Everyone, which is overseen by the district’s Stronger Communities Partnership, has launched the Inclusive Employer toolkit at an online event on Thursday, 17 December 2020.

The toolkit has been created by Grant Thornton with input from the Inclusive Employers Network and using learning from work with Bradford Council and Yorkshire Building Society.

All employers in the Bradford district were invited to attend the launch event to find out more about how they can get involved and work to promote diversity in the workforce and create change in organisational culture.

Bishop Toby, Chair of Stronger Communities Partnership, said:  “Bradford For Everyone are committed to improving outcomes in employment that enhance our advantage of having a diverse and equal and workforce. The Inclusive Employer project led by Grant Thornton has made a huge contribution in this effort with learning from YBS and Bradford Council being shared in this toolkit.“

Bradford Council spokesperson, said:  “This has been a partnership effort from employers across the district in a range of sectors including, public, private and voluntary sector organisations. I’m sure this toolkit will help organisations across the district to make change and create an inclusive, equal and diverse workforce training programme to improve opportunities for everyone in terms of social mobility.”

Tracey Newton, Director of Colleague Experience at Yorkshire Building Society, said:  “YBS is delighted to have been involved in the inclusive employer project. We have supported the design of the toolkit which will  share learning and promote inclusive practices and approaches with our community.”

Grant Thornton spokesperson “ It has been a pleasure working with Bradford Council and Yorkshire Building Society on this project and sharing insights with them and the employers involved in the Inclusive Employers Network. The momentum and energy to drive change in this area from these organisations is fantastic and we hope that the employers in the district’s Inclusive Employers Network find this toolkit helpful in continuing their inclusion journeys.”

You can find the toolkit on our website. https://bradfordforeveryone.co.uk/what-works/

The Employers Network will meet throughout the year to update on progress that the toolkit has made and work together to create a more inclusive, equal and diverse workforce in the district.  To get involved or for more information please contact matthew.henderson@bradford.gov.uk.
