Remembering Srebrenica

Remembering Srebrenica

As part of the 25th anniversary of the war in Bosnia we will create a number of short films
speaking to people who were displaced by the war and have now settled in Bradford as part of our Remembering Srebrenica memorial. The films explore what it was like for the people involved who found themselves making a new life in Bradford. The films were
produced to form part of the 25th anniversary of Remembering Srebrenica in 2020. They will be screened on the Bradford Big Screen, on the Bradford City of Film website and the Bradford Council website and also offered to UNESCO for adding to their website.
Unfortunately due to the Covid restrictions they were not aired in 2020 but will now be launched at our Remembering Srebrenica memorial online event to be held on 14th July. Some of the questions to asked of participants: Do you remember the date when you
arrived in Bradford? (winter, summer – the season) What were your first impressions of the City? Had you ever heard of Bradford before arriving here? What possessions did you have with you? How do you start to rebuild your life in another country? Did you
manage to maintain contact with friends and family? What do you do now in Bradford? Do you feel at home here? Do you return to your home city/ country on a regular basis? Have you been back home? What do you like best about Bradford
